5 OF THE MOST STRANGE HOUSES IN THE WORLD

The house we choose, the home, its architecture - modern or classic - represents in a certain way our individuality. However, there are people around the world who put all their imagination into creating their new home and take their houses to the next level of uniqueness. In today's world, there is a saying - if you can dream it, then you can build it.

We bring to your attention our small selection of five really strange houses. What they have in common is the curious architecture and the idea behind it, the imagination, and the non-standard thinking of their creators.

The Beetle House is located in the village of Gigi near Salzburg, Austria. The house was designed by Markus Voglreiter and if you have not guessed yet, it is inspired by the car Volkswagen Beetle. The owners bought an ordinary house from the 70s, after which they completely renovated it. The house was completed in 2003 and is an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient house.

The Upside-Down House of Trassenheide, Germany

Built-in 2008 in the seaside resort of Trassenheide, the Upside-Down House is the first such dwelling built in Germany. Behind the strange residential dwelling stand the Polish architects Klaudiuzs Golos and Sebastian Mikicuk, who realized it as part of a project called Die Welt Steht Kopf ("The world upside down"). The aim of the project is to give visitors a different view of everyday things. In the Trassenheide house, the only thing that is not turned upside down is the external stairs that lead to the attic (which actually serves as an entrance to the ground floor). On the outer walls of the inverted "ground floor" there is an upside-down bench, a cart, and a bicycle.

This spaceship-like house has a rational, very elegant, and simple design. Architect James Stockwell was commissioned to design the home, and the purpose of the design was to merge with the magnificent sea views. Stockwell's house includes "spilled" exterior contours that follow the horizon and an exterior that is influenced by nature and is compressed into the picturesque landscape.
